Story County Early Childhood Collaboration

The Story County Quality of Life Alliance is interested in starting an Early Childhood Collaboration to build on the past momentum generated from the ACEs event held in 2013.  See additional information about ACEs here.

A number of organizations in Story County offer programs that directly help with early childhood development (e.g. MICA, LSI, YSS, United Way, Child Serve, and Boys and Girls Club). A variety of programs are offered including the backpack program, breakfast and lunch programs, great futures campaign, character and leadership programs, foster care/adoption programs, STEM educational opportunities. The goal of this new collaboration is to combine resources and expertise to have a larger collective impact on child health issues. A meeting was held on October 24, 2014 to generate interest in the collaboration.

Resource Information

The Early Childhood Collaboration is built upon the need to help promote health and safety during early childhood years. Students at ISU worked directly with Marion Kresse (ECI Area Director for BooSt Together for Children) to identify resources and to compile them for broader use by other coalitions. The group also developed a set of interactive maps that provide informative links to early childhood development agencies that are located in Story County.
